Radiotherapy is not indicated in patients with vulvar squamous cell carcinoma and only one occult intracapsular groin node metastasis

ObjectiveMost guidelines advise no adjuvant radiotherapy in vulvar squamous cell carcinoma and a single occult intracapsular lymph node metastasis. However, several recent studies have questioned the validity of this recommendation. The aim study was to analyze groin recurrence rate patients with positive treated without radiotherapy.MethodsPatients clinically metastasis, radiotherapy, formed basis for study. Groin recurrences, risk death, were analyzed relation size metastasis ratio. Data using SPSS, version 26.0 Windows.ResultsAfter median follow-up 64 months, one 96 (1%) diagnosed an isolated another two (2.1%) combination local recurrence. only occurred contralateral negative groin. Size ratio had impact on risk, nor survival. 5-year actuarial disease-specific overall survivals 79% 62.5% respectively. recurrence-free survival 97%.ConclusionBecause low excellent survival, we recommend that can be safely omitted prevent unnecessary toxicity morbidity.
